Recently Andrea & I took a field trip to Jordan’s Greenhouse in Fort Collins, Colorado. Jordan’s provides fresh cut flowers to many of the wholesalers in the Colorado and Wyoming areas.
Originally in the 1960s & ’70s Jordan’s started with growing tomatoes in their two acre greenhouse. Next they added in roses and became well known for that crop. As roses started being grown more and more in South America Jordan’s eased out of production. Now you will not find one rose plant on their property with the purpose of cutting and selling the stems of roses! They have moved into growing many other types of flowers.
Jordan’s is known for growing some of the most gorgeous dahlias in Colorado! Personally I’m a fan of their burgundy variety & the yin-yang (red with white tips). They also grow Asiatic & Stargazer Lilies, Alstromeria, Snapdragons, Iris, Anemones, Ranunculus, Stephanotis, Sunflowers and Gerber Daisies.

Everyone's favorite flowers! The anemone. In the front you can see the popular white with black center variety. The purple anemone grows in the background.
