Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton made an unannounced journey to Montreal where they were married in a low-key ceremony on March 15, 1964, in the Ritz Carlton Hotel. Only nine people were in attendance to see the lovers pronounced man and wife.
Elizabeth carried a very petite bouquet of yellow freesia with a collar of salal! Richard sported a matching freesia boutonniere.
